Whitehall -  Linda M. Redmond, 67, of Elizabeth Street, Whitehall, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April, 15, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born on January 31, 1951 in Whitehall, N.Y.., the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Zakrzewski) Redmond.

She attended and graduated from Whitehall High School.

Linda was employed for a time at the General Electric Company in Fort Edward.  She then operated the Victory Grill & Bar on Main Street in Whitehall for several years.  She then went to work for the New York State Department of Transportation in the Highway Department in Kingsbury, retiring after more that 20 plus years of service.

She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Angels Church in Whitehall, and currently a member of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church of Whitehall.

Linda enjoyed attending the “Friday Night Fish Fry” at the local American Legion Post in Whitehall for many years. She spent many hours per day sitting at her computer visiting with her many friends throughout the United States and abroad.  Above all, she enjoyed the many times that she shared with her niece, Joellen Winters her husband Raymond, and their two daughters, Madison and Morgan Winters.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, William and his wife Sandy Redmond, Robert Redmond, her sister, Shirly Redmond, and her two furry friends, Holly and Buddy.

She is survived by her three sisters, Sandra Angus of Granville, Eileen and her husband Gus Breault of Whitehall and Jean and her husband Norman Carr of Whitehall.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, her grand nieces and grand nephews, and her furry companion “Olive”.

It is Linda’s wishes that there be no calling hours or services.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Linda’s memory to the Make A Wish Foundation, 3 Washington Square, Albany N.Y., 12205 and that flowers be omitted.

Our cherished friend has left us. We had no warning, no time to say our goodbyes, no time to say all those things left unsaid. I hope and pray that she knows how much she meant to so many people. She tried to be tough as nails but really she was a softy with a heart of gold. Linda loved her niece's family and took them as her own. She was so proud of Madison and Morgan. She was so looking forward to Madison's Graduation. Oh how she loved those two girls. Then of course there was Olive and their rides to go look for the Big Dogs. I have no Idea how Whitehall will be without Linda to keep the town in line. There were no holds barred when it came to what Linda thought about something. I know she will be missed by all who knew her. She was my sister through love not blood and I loved her. Linda has left a void in our lives, a void that may never be filled. My condolences to Joellen, Raymond, Madison and Morgan. Soar with the eagles Linda.
