Whitehall, NY, Donna Jean MacLeod, 78, passed away in her sleep on July 15, 2025, at the Washington Center Nursing and Rehab Center in Argyle following a long illness.
Donna Jean, better known as Jean, was born on August 3, 1946 in Princeton, ME to Norman and Edith Libby MacLeod, both parents predeceased her.
From Princeton to Whitehall to Niantic, CT and Kingston, NY, Jean always made a way for herself and her children. In 1983, she returned to Whitehall to assist in the family business. She enjoyed traveling to Big Lake, ME and Port Charlotte, Fl., where she spent many of her memorable days.
Jean was widowed by her beloved husband of 17 years, James Burnham in 2005 and was predeceased by her brother, Norman "Sonny" MacLeod and three brothers that died prior to her birth in a house fire in Maine.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her family.
She is survived by her children; Alexander Hyatt, Heather (John) Lindblade, Janelle Hyatt, Rob (Becky) and Jamie (Rachel) Toolan. Her grandchildren; Jacob (Krista) and Jesse Hyatt, Elizabeth and Brandon Turner, Aidan Toolan, Joe (Hannah) Schaefer, Katherine Rose and Alex Toolan. She is also survived by her children's father, life-long friend, Harold Hyatt and several nieces and nephews.
Her final care was entrusted to one of her best friends Michael Angiolillo of the Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral Home, 210 Broadway, Whitehall.
A Celebration of Jean's Life is planned for close friends and family at a later date. A special thank you to all those who cared for Jean over the years of her long illness.
