Whitehall, N.Y. - Esther M. Ross, 95, died peacefully at Glens Falls Hospital on July 31, 2014.

She was born on September 28, 1918 in Whitehall, NY where she resided all her life. She was devoted to her family, friends, and her church and will be missed by all who knew her.

Esther lived life to the fullest and was a kind and generous woman helping many in her quiet ways. In addition to raising her four children, she volunteered in many church, school and community activities throughout her life. She was a teaching assistant at Whitehall Elementary and loved helping children. She enjoyed cooking, baking (delivering many cookie trays), entertaining especially Sunday dinners, traveling with her husband, and walking miles around town. She was our extended family historian. Blessed

with a life of extraordinary energy and a determined spirit, she was an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Her values that she lived by are attributes that made our mother so special and are her legacy that will live on.

Esther was predeceased by her parents Angela and Joseph Marcino, her husband John, her brother Melio "Duce" Marcino, her two sisters Mary Osowicki and Rose Ross and her son-in-law Victor Ross. She is survived by her children: Mary Anne, John (Lesley), Frank (Karen) and Jean as well as her seven grandchildren Matthew (Amy) and Caitlyn Huntington, John, Mia, and James Ross and Justin and Elizabeth Ross, her sister Anne Soothcage and brother Joseph Marcino along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives and friends of the community she cherished.
