Greenfield Center and Whitehall, N.Y. -  Frank Paul Blasko, 65, formerly of Greenfield Center and Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs following a long illness.

He was born on October 20, 1949 in New York City the son of the late Ethel Irene (Whalen) Blasko.

Frank and his family moved from New York City back to his mother's hometown in in Whitehall in 1960.  He was a graduate of Whitehall Central High School Class of 1969.  He moved to Greenfield Center in 1974.

Frank and his life partner Albert L. Podesva were together for more than 30 years before Al's death in 1999.

He worked for Native Textiles in Glens Falls for 4 years and then worked for 18 years at Finch Pruyn Paper Company in South Glens prior to becoming disabled.

His disability did not hold him down.  Frank raised and showed Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) and Irish Terrier dogs.  He also trained a wire fox terrier to be a therapy dog and would visit area nursing homes and senior adult homes bring much comfort to the residents.  Frank served as the president of the Glens Falls Kennel Club and Bard of Directors.  He served as show and match chairman for several years.

Frank was a self taught artist who painted and sculpted in clay.  In 1988 he was awarded the "Most Promising New Artist of the Year" by O.M.O.T and the Glens Falls Art Association.  He was also an award winning weaver and also spun his own wool.  HE was also an avid cook and gardener.

Besides his mother Ethel I. Blasko who passed away in 1990, his sister Patricia J. Blasko and brother John Robert Blasko died in 1965.

He is survived by his loving brother, Steven E. Blasko of Troy, his several cousins and his many friends including his two very special friends, Urszula Janicki and Paul Betit.

At Frank's request, there will be no calling hours or public services.  A graveside service will held at the convenience of the family where he will be laid to rest with his partner Al, in North Milton Cemetery, Milton, N.Y.
