Ruth O. Mallory

Whitehall, N.Y. - Ruth O. Mallory, 74, passed away on October 11, 2026 at the Slate Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville following a long illness with her family by her side.

She was born in Glens Falls, N.Y. on September 11, 1952, the daughter of the late Richard R. and Effie L. (Walsh) Taylor, Sr.

Ruth and her husband Richard L Mallory, Sr. were united in marriage on April 13, 1968 in Hudson Falls.

She enjoyed her many years working within the Whitehall community. At one time, Ruth served a cook at the Silver Dinner in Whitehall, she was a housekeeper for many residences of the Whitehall community and retired after working for many years at the Whitehall Plywood Company in Whitehall.

She spent much of her time surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Mallory, Sr. of Whitehall, her three children, Richard L. Mallory, Jr. of Whitehall, Candy Sue LaClaire of Argyle and Justin Raymond Mallory and his wife Lynda of Hudson Falls, her 8 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 4 brothers, Richard L. Taylor, Jr., John Taylor, Danny (Connie) Taylor, Robert (Laurie)Taylor, her 5 sisters, Pamela Adams, Wendy Taylor, Kathy Taylor, Lillian Taylor and Sarah Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.

At Ruth’s request, there will be no services at this time. A committal service will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George, N.Y.
