Roland Gordon Obituary
Whitehall – Roland L. “Ronnie” Gordon, 70, passed away on July 4, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on May 3, 1951 in his home in Whitehall, the son of the late Roland Gordon and Lucille V. (Rodd) Gordon of Whitehall.
Roland was a graduate of Whitehall High School, Class of 1969.
He was employed for more than 49 years at Sandy Hill Manufacturing which eventually became GL&V Manufacturing in Hudson Falls.
Roland was a very active communicant within the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church of Whitehall.
He was a member of the Whitehall B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1491 of Whitehall, the Whitehall Knights of Columbus Council #0276 of Whitehall, currently serving ad the Deputy Grand Knight, and the St. Isaac Jogues Assembly #0756 4th Degree Knights in Ticonderoga and served with their Honor Guard.
Roland truly enjoyed many outdoor activities. He also enjoyed bowling in the Monday/Tuesday bowling league at the Whitehall Elks Lodge and watching golf and cooking programs on television.
Besides his father, he is predeceased by his sister Sherri L. Field.
He is survived by his mother Lucille V. Gordon of Whitehall, his two daughters: Stephanie Carbone and her husband Martin of Wynantskill and Jennifer Sanville and her husband Derek of Slingerlands, two grandchildren, Nicholas and Elizabeth Carbone, his brothers, Henry Gordon of Whitehall and Wayne Gordon and his wife Maria of Highland Ranch, Colorado, his aunt, Lorraine Brooks of Whitehall, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Roland’s request, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2:00pm in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Whitehall with Reverend Zachariah Chichester, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions take the form of donations in his memory to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 9 Wheeler Ave, Whitehall, N.Y. 12887.
